The International Committee of the Red Cross warned of the seriousness of the living situation in Syria, and said that 14 million and 600,000 people need assistance, and that 90% of them live below the poverty line.

The figures of international organizations confirm what was reported by the International Committee of the Red Cross, as the report of the World Food Program stated that 12 million Syrians suffer from food insecurity, while the number of those suffering from severe food insecurity reaches two and a half million, while the people at risk of insecurity Food approached two million.

The current situation requires funding estimated in the current year at more than one billion and 30 million US dollars.

But the World Food Program received - according to its latest reports - only $356 million in funds, which represents only 26% of the required funds, according to the global programme.

The Security Council's mandate that allows cross-border aid deliveries from Turkey is due to expire on July 10.

But Russia, an ally of Damascus, has indicated its opposition to renewing the operation, arguing that it violates Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and that more aid should be provided from within the country.

The United Nations said that 4 aid convoys have deployed in northwestern Syria from within the country, but they cannot, at the present time, be a substitute for the cross-border operation in terms of size and scope.

In his latest report on aid in Syria last April, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres told the Security Council that "challenges remain to be overcome to conduct regular and sustained operations across the lines (from inside Syria) in the northwest."

He pointed out that among these challenges are timely security guarantees from the parties and commitments not to interfere with the delivery of humanitarian aid from inside Syria.
