At the end of May, Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a meeting of the State Council, said that all participants in the special operation in Ukraine should be treated as heroes.

They are all heroes, that’s right: everyone puts their lives in mortal danger, goes for it consciously, ”he said.

A native of Armavir, navigator of a fighter aviation regiment,

Viktor Dudin

, became the first pilot to be awarded the title of Hero of Russia for courage and heroism shown in carrying out tasks during the special military operation of the Russian Federation in Ukraine.

He destroyed an enemy aircraft on the first day of the NWO.

During combat patrols, Viktor Dudin spotted an APU fighter and destroyed an enemy Su-27 from the first run.

So the pilot prevented the possibility of an air strike on the positions of Russian troops.

Subsequently, Dudin repeatedly disrupted the attacks of Ukrainian aviation, during the NMD he destroyed several more air targets - both in a single flight and as part of a pair.

In addition, Major Dudin eliminated the Buk-M1 mobile anti-aircraft missile system from the air, for this the pilot had to descend to a dangerous height of less than 400 m.

Victor Dudin was awarded the title of Hero of the Russian Federation and the Gold Star medal on May 8, at a gala reception in honor of the heroes.

The award was presented to him by the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu.

Lieutenant Colonel from Transbaikalia, pilot

Dmitry Litvinov

was awarded the title of Hero of Russia for the fact that during a military special operation in Ukraine he saved a downed fighter comrade, covering him with his own plane.

On May 8, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu presented the pilot with the Hero of Russia medal.

Performing a combat mission, Litvinov flew out as part of a pair of Su-25 attack aircraft to destroy a company stronghold of Ukrainian nationalists.

When the stronghold was defeated, the second aircraft was hit by a missile fired from the enemy's portable anti-aircraft missile system.

“Lieutenant Colonel Litvinov rebuilt for the downed aircraft and, visually assessing its damage, helped the second pilot partially restore control.

At that moment, a second missile was fired at the downed aircraft.

Realizing that the plane would not withstand another hit, Dmitry Litvinov, without hesitation, made the only right decision - to cover it with his plane, went into his tail and shot off infrared traps that took the fired missile away from the plane, ”the Russian Ministry of Defense said in a statement on feat of Litvinov.

Not only the military

Heroism in the Russian military special operation in Ukraine is shown not only by military personnel.

Like real heroes, ordinary civilians also act, providing a reliable rear for the military.

Svetlana Shcherbina

from Volnovakha hid the houses of a DPR tanker Yevgeny Donchenko for 12 days, a survivor of the battle, who turned out to be, in fact, the first in the life of a young soldier.

At the end of February, when the assault on Volnovakha began, the tank driven by Donchenko was ambushed by the enemy.

In an unequal battle, the crew of a young fighter destroyed two enemy tanks and an infantry fighting vehicle, but was hit.

The crew commander and gunner were killed, and

Yevgeny Donchenko

, who received a shell shock, managed to get out of the burning car.

Without the help of Svetlana, the tanker would not have been able to escape: there were many nationalists in the city, and several enemy tanks were standing right in the garden behind Svetlana's house.

The woman did not betray the wounded Donchenko.

When Volnovakha came under the control of the DPR, the tanker was awarded the title of Hero of the Donetsk People's Republic.
