According to European officials, Saldo participated in the activities of the "Committee of Salvation for Peace and Order" in cooperation with Russia and promoted policies "undermining the independence of Ukraine."
The EU also announced sanctions against the head of the military-civilian administration of Melitopol, Galina Danilchenko.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on simplified admission to Russian citizenship of residents of the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
As Vladimir Saldo noted, Russian citizenship registration centers will open in the region in the near future.
In addition, the first branch of a Russian bank will appear in Kherson.
