The Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), the largest healthcare network in the UAE, has announced the adoption of artificial intelligence techniques in 11 of its centers, to speed up reading and analyzing the results of retinal examination images.

The new service facilitates early detection and rapid intervention in cases of retinopathy, which leads to weakness or loss of vision.

The health care centers of the “SEHA” group conduct regular retinal examinations for diabetic patients to detect retinopathy, while the examinations require reading and analysis from ophthalmologists after the results appear within three days.

By incorporating artificial intelligence, results can be provided in just three seconds, facilitating faster medical intervention.
