The head of state said this during a meeting on the development of road construction.

He noted that the largest project in the road sector today is the creation of the M12 Moscow-Kazan highway with access to Kazakhstan as part of the Europe-Western China corridor.

“As we agreed, in the east the road will be extended to Yekaterinburg, Tyumen and Chelyabinsk,” TASS quoted him as saying.

The head of state asked to report on how this work is progressing and what are the long-term plans for entering the Siberian regions.

Earlier, Realnoe Vremya reported that since the beginning of the construction of the eighth stage of the M12 highway in Tatarstan, work has been carried out in the amount of 40.2 billion rubles.

In total, 168.2 billion rubles were allocated for these purposes.
