They have been beaten, threatened and hated.

This week, Mattias Karlsson (SD), Per Bolund (MP) and Johan Pehrson (L) will be visiting a special section of Politikbyrån, which is about life as a politician.

Parts of the conversation are about the climate of conversation in politics - and Anders Lindberg, political editor-in-chief at Aftonbladet, criticizes the elected representatives.

- Politicians today are divided into two parts.

Those who have power say nothing, the politicians who do not have power shout in the air.

And I would say that it is the politicians, not the journalists, who are lowering the level of social media today.

"It's gotten tougher"

Johan Pehrson agrees.

- It has become tougher.

But we have to endure a lot because we are privileged.

We are sitting at the table of power, and there are many people who feel unseen.

Some of them may not feel so good and then you can become aggressive.

We must be forgiving of this, says Johan Pehrson.

Mattias Karlsson believes that all parliamentary parties use pointed rhetoric.

- To pretend that it is not so is just bullshit.

But there is a built-in dramaturgy in this, especially as politics has become more and more mediated.

What gets headlines is what is pointed and conflict-focused.

- That is difficult to get away from, and something we have to live with.

But I think we have to supplement it with, for example, programs like this that show that politicians do not hate each other, that we are human beings and that one can distinguish between thing and person.

It is important that we constantly signal that there is a difference between thing and person.

"The development is very worrying"

Per Bolund also agrees that politicians have a responsibility for language use.

- We see how the language used by politicians is then passed on to some kind of political tail.

I think it is a very worrying development on social media but also in terms of the tone of politics.

There, I think there is quite a difference between parties.

Does your party always have a good tone?

- I think we all need to be able to see ourselves in the mirror and express ourselves better.

I know that there are representatives from us as well who can express themselves too sharply, I would say.
