“By this executive order, the U.S. Department of Transportation, acting at the request of the State Department, cancels previous measures restricting certain types of aviation services between the United States and Cuba,” RIA Novosti quoted the document as saying.

The restrictions being lifted, as specified, relate to regular and charter flights between both countries. 

In October 2019, the United States suspended air travel to Cuban airports, with the exception of the capital's Jose Marti Airport, and also imposed entry restrictions on Cuban officials.
