The Ministerial Council for Development, during its meeting yesterday, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, discussed the amendment of a number of federal legislations regulating the transfer and transplantation of human organs and tissues, in accordance with international best practices, and those related to regulating labor relations with employment. Ancillary service, and amending some provisions related to the legislation of the General Pension and Social Security Authority.

The meeting, which was held at Al Watan Palace in Abu Dhabi, discussed a number of legislation and initiatives aimed at supporting the economic system and government work and continuing to develop it to meet the requirements of the future stage.

The meeting's agenda included discussing the performance of the industrial sector in the country, the challenges it faces, and the possibilities and initiatives that would achieve a qualitative leap in the national industrial development and enhance its participation in increasing the domestic product and stimulating the national economy.

The Council also discussed a number of federal regulations and decisions, including the draft executive regulations for the Commercial Register Law to activate the linking of the commercial registry with the licensing authorities to the economic registry, the system for collecting federal government revenues, and decisions related to the Emirati cadres competitiveness council to support efforts to qualify and employ national human cadres.

In regulatory affairs, the council was briefed on the results of government agencies’ implementation of national cybersecurity standards, mechanisms to follow up on their implementation, as well as mechanisms for developing the digital system in the government and accelerating the transformation of federal government services into digital services, and the controls and standards for the governance of exchange and investment in projects, assets and digital infrastructure.

In the government reports, the Council reviewed the results of the performance of the Emirates Development Bank until the first quarter of this year, and the results of implementing the common and unified policy to support government purchases of medical products.

He reviewed a number of reports, including a report on the cost of spending on hosting conferences in the country during the fiscal year 2021, a report on the performance of the Emirates Investment Authority during the first quarter of 2022, and a report on the work of the Zayed University Board of Directors for the year 2021.
