“Today, I am announcing a major new security assistance package to provide timely and necessary assistance to the Ukrainian military,” Biden said in a statement.
He specified that the aid package will include HIMARS MLRS and ammunition.
Earlier, a senior White House official said that a new package of US military assistance to Ukraine would include HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Kyiv's demands to the West for the supply of multiple launch rocket systems are a direct provocation aimed at drawing other countries into the situation in Ukraine.
