Abdullah bin Zayed participates in the meeting of the Ministerial Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council in Riyadh

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, participated in the meeting of the 152nd session of the Ministerial Council of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, which was held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Council in Riyadh, the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in the presence of Their Highnesses, Excellencies and Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

The meeting was chaired by His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Chairman of the current session of the Ministerial Council.

During the meeting, which was held with the participation of His Excellency Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf, Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, the Council reviewed the developments of joint Gulf action, and developments at the regional and international levels.

The Council was briefed on the efforts made by the working committees within the framework of the Cooperation Council to implement the decisions of the Supreme Council of the Cooperation Council at its forty-second session, which was held in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In a statement issued by the meeting, the Ministerial Council expressed deep feelings of sorrow and sadness for the death of the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, may God have mercy on him, who moved to the side of his Lord, after a life full of great deeds and great achievements, and a journey full of sincere giving and sincere work. Diligent for the good of the UAE, its progress, prosperity and the prosperity of its people.

The Council offered its sincere condolences and sincere sympathy to the UAE leadership, government and people, and to the Arab and Islamic nations in this great calamity.

The Council also expressed its sincere appreciation for the role of the late deceased in strengthening the march of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, with his brothers, the leaders of the GCC states, and for his great effort, "may God have mercy on him", to serve Arab and Islamic causes, the good of humanity, and the peace of the region and the world.

The Ministerial Council congratulated His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, on his election as President of the UAE.

He expressed his confidence that His Highness, in his usual wisdom, will enhance the active participation of the UAE in supporting the blessed march of the Gulf Cooperation Council, achieving its lofty goals with its brothers, the leaders of the GCC states, maintaining the security of the Gulf Cooperation Council, and establishing its bases, in order to achieve stability and prosperity for the GCC countries and their peoples.

The meeting was attended by His Highness, Minister of State Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, and UAE Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Sheikh Nahyan bin Saif bin Mohammed Al Nahyan.
