China News Service, Chengdu, June 1 (Reporter Liu Zhongjun) The reporter learned from the Ya'an Earthquake Relief Headquarters in Sichuan Province on June 1 that the earthquake has killed 4 people and injured 14 people (all in Baoxing County). The injured have been transferred to city and county hospitals for treatment.

The Sichuan Armed Police Corps Hospital dispatched 19 medical staff to the earthquake area to carry out medical rescue.

  At 17:00 on June 1, an earthquake of magnitude 6.1 occurred in Lushan County, Ya'an City, with a focal depth of 17 kilometers; at 17:03, an earthquake of magnitude 4.5 occurred in Baoxing County, Ya'an City, with a focal depth of 18 kilometers.

  As of 19:40, the earthquake had caused some townships in Lushan County and Baoxing County to be affected. Ya'an City received reports that 4 people were killed and 14 people were injured (both in Baoxing County).

The earthquake also caused poor communication in parts of Lushan County and Baoxing County.

  At present, the Ya'an Earthquake Relief Headquarters has mobilized more than 4,500 emergency rescue, armed police, fire, medical, public security, militia and other rescue forces to go to the earthquake-stricken areas to carry out personnel search and rescue, treatment of the wounded, road rescue, and mass transfer and resettlement.

  According to information from the Sichuan Armed Police Corps Hospital, the hospital launched an emergency plan immediately after the earthquake. In accordance with the order of the Corps, President Ren Xiaolan led 19 members of the first echelon of the emergency medical team to rush to the earthquake area.

The medical team carried sufficient medicines and medical supplies, and was equipped with medical equipment such as ambulances, surgical cabins, and anti-epidemic decontamination vehicles.
