- We will challenge the sitting politicians.

It is quite clear, says Mats Broberg who is the second name on the ballot papers for the party The Independents in Torsby.

He reckons that the party will get four, five seats in the council.

At the same time, Nordvärmland's municipal party hopes to get into municipal politics.

Good with several parties

Party leader Roland Jonsson says that it is great that several local parties are running.

- It is proof that there is interest in creating change in the municipality.

Several of those on the parties' lists have previously been involved in other parties.

Ann Hagström in Mörbacka north of Ambjörby, for example, was an environmental artist before.

She now represents Nordvärmland's municipal party.

She sees Independent Realists in Hagfors, which became the largest party in the municipality in the 2018 election, as a model for her new party.

- I think it should be possible to split the majority in the municipality here in the same way as they did in Hagfors, she says.

Assignments for both (M) and (S)

Mats Broberg has previously had political assignments for both the Moderates and the Social Democrats.

While Roland Jonsson sat on the municipal council for the Left Party and the Sweden Democrats.

Now he is politically wild in the municipality.

In the video, representatives of the new party explain why they are getting involved in local politics.
