Patrushev said this during a meeting in Kazan.

He noted that the reasonable demands of Russia on security guarantees were completely ignored.

The Secretary of the Security Council of Russia also recalled Kyiv's plans to change the status of a non-nuclear power and join NATO.

According to him, the Russian side also received information about the preparation of Kyiv for hostilities in the Donbass and an attack on Russia.

“All these threats forced us to take preventive measures and launch a special military operation,” Interfax quoted him as saying.

Patrushev added that Russia had received irrefutable evidence of the financing and implementation of military biological programs in Ukraine under the control of foreign specialists.

Patrushev also said that, apparently, Poland is moving on to seizing territories in western Ukraine.
