The Russian minister said this during a meeting with Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hussein Ibrahim Taha.
Lavrov noted that the formation of a multipolar world is underway, but Western countries are trying to interfere with these processes, wishing to "extend their dominance to all regions."
“They are trying to mobilize all other countries under their banners, using the situation in Ukraine and around it as a pretext,” TASS quoted him as saying.
Earlier, Lavrov said that the West had long ignored calls not to make Ukraine anti-Russia.
