In Kiev, Catherine Colonna is to meet with her counterpart, Dmytro Kuleba, as well as with

President Volodymyr Zelensky

.

These discussions will mainly focus on the issue of Ukrainian grain and oilseed exports.

Essential exports to avoid a global food catastrophe, specifies the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Minister also visited Boutcha.

The city was marked

by massacres of civilians

while it was occupied by Russian troops.

International investigators, including French gendarmes, are working with Ukrainian investigators to collect evidence on these abuses.

“

This should not happen, it must not start again

”, declared in particular Catherine Colonna, after a visit to an Orthodox church where photos of the abuses were exposed, according to Agence France-Presse.

The minister took the opportunity to hand over equipment, including fire engines and ambulances, to the Ukrainian authorities.

This visit by Catherine Colonna to Ukraine is a first for a member of the French government.

But the Ukrainian authorities are still hoping for a possible move by Emmanuel Macron, as Volodymyr Zelensky recalled a few weeks ago.
