China News Service, May 30. According to US media reports on the 29th, a 10-year-old fifth-grade boy at Patriot Elementary School in Cape Coral, Florida, was accused of sending text messages threatening a mass shooting.

Local police arrested the boy after questioning him.

  Sheriff Carmine Marceno reportedly said: "This student's behavior is disgusting, especially after the recent tragedy in Uvalde, Texas. This kid made a false threat, and now he's going through real consequences."

  According to previous reports, more than 20 people were killed, including at least 19 children, in a shooting incident at Rob Elementary School in Uvalde, southern Texas, on the 24th.

It was one of the deadliest school shootings in America.

  Eric Estrada, an official with the Texas Department of Public Safety, said the gunman, wearing body armor, drove to the school, then entered the school with a gun and opened fire, and he had previously hinted on social media that an attack was imminent.

Peter Arredondo, the police chief of the school district where the incident happened, also said the gunman acted alone.

His motive is unclear.
