The election observation occurred while he was driving across the bridge, on his way to central Luleå.

It was about a quarter past four-thirty in the afternoon.

- What first caught my eye was a large vortex in the water, and a seagull that flew over the vortex and circled around, Andreas Broman tells SVT.

Came up a pectoral fin

He thought it was a real vortex.

And when he looked again, a large pectoral fin came out of the water.

Andreas Broman needed to keep an eye on the traffic in front of him, there were many cars on the road.

- When I looked there again, I saw the back and a small dorsal fin.

That was the only thing I had time to see!

he says and laughs.

Andreas Broman has concluded that it must have been a humpback whale, which probably swam wrong and ended up in the Gulf of Bothnia.

"Know what I saw"

Despite the brief glimpse of the election, he is completely sure of what he has seen.

He works as a biologist and fisheries expert at the County Administrative Board, and has seen whales in both Norway and Svalbard over the years.

- I'm not an election expert, but I know what I saw.

Andreas Broman is now curious about whether more people may have seen the elections that passed at Bergnäsbron.

He believes that many were out driving this time and more should have made observations.

It has happened before that whales have come up to Luleå.

In 2012, SVT reported that a humpback whale had been seen in the same place.

And in 2006 a humpback whale was also reported in the Luleå archipelago.
