Dozens of tags threatening the police with death were found in several places in Dijon (Côte-d'Or) on Friday morning.

Among the 65 inscriptions are "Cop rapist assassin", "Prisons on fire, guards in the middle" or "An OPJ two shots, a proc 3 shots of Glock".

The prefect of the department Fabien Sudry condemned "very strongly" these graffiti in a press release.

A finger-pointing carnival

The State representative mentioned the fact that the inscriptions had appeared the day after the carnival organized by the ZAD des Lentillères.

He said that the undeclared demonstration "was the occasion for some of its participants to damage multiple public and private buildings in Dijon".

The organizers of the event quoted by France 3 Bourgogne Franche-Comté, for their part, accused the prefecture of “locking us in a box”.

The collective denounced the tear gas sprayed "without warning" on families participating in the parade.
