Until now, this thirty-something was unknown to the police.

He was arrested in Toulouse on the night of Sunday to Monday, with 1.56 grams of alcohol in his blood and after causing an accident.

The man, who was driving in the Saint-Simon district, is accused of having hit a car whose two occupants – a man and a child – were injured.

According to the police, he did not stop to help the victims.

He continued his mad dash before hitting a tree and fleeing on foot.

But, provided with his description and directed by his bleeding hand, a police patrol quickly caught up with him.

The driver is still in custody at the police station on Monday.
