Events A man commits suicide when he was going to be evicted in Barcelona
A 55-year-old man committed suicide this Monday at noon when he was going to be evicted from his official protection home on Séquia Madriguera street in the Bon Pastor neighborhood of Barcelona.
Municipal workers went to the house since a delivery of keys had been agreed, after postponing it a few weeks ago, and when they arrived they did not find anyone in the apartment.
Several neighbors point out that the man threw himself off the balcony as soon as he arrived and saw them in the house.
The Barcelona City Council has deeply regretted this death and has highlighted that it had been decided that the man leave this house, to which his mother agreed more than a decade ago, due to "repeated cases of serious neighborhood conflict" dating back to the year 2019 However, the Consistory makes it clear that the help of social workers was offered to him.
The farm, owned by the Municipal Housing Board, was built in 2010.
After this suicide, the emergency services that have cordoned off the area were alerted.
The police have launched an investigation.
