The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) revealed that it had received a torrent of calls to prevent a new war against the backdrop of the escalation in Jerusalem, while hundreds of settlers stormed neighborhoods of Hebron, the day after the flags march in Jerusalem.

The movement's spokesman, Fawzi Barhoum, confirmed that the torrent of communications received by his movement from mediators came as an attempt not to deteriorate the situation into a real state of war due to the march of the flags.

He pointed out that the resistance has its calculations in dealing with the occupation and appreciating the appropriate positions in the deterrence process, as he put it.

In parallel, Hamas said that the battle with the occupation will continue until the conflict is resolved and it is defeated on Palestinian land.

The head of the political bureau of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, said that what happened in Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque will not be forgiven, and added - in statements quoted by his media advisor - that the resistance will continue its path until the occupation is uprooted from the land of Palestine.

Haniyeh stressed that the movement's political bureau refuses to give a pledge or guarantees to any party about what the situation in occupied Palestine might be like.

Incursions into Hebron

In another development, hundreds of settlers stormed - today, Monday - several neighborhoods in the southern area of Hebron, in the southern West Bank, starting from Kiryat Arba settlement, towards the Ibrahimi Mosque.

The settlers raised the Israeli flags and chanted "Death to the Arabs", under the protection of the occupation forces.

The settlers' march coincided with the closure of shops and the intense deployment of the Israeli occupation forces, which impeded the work of journalists in the squares of the Ibrahimi Mosque.

On the other hand, dozens of Palestinians in the city of Hebron organized a protest against the Israeli flag rallies organized by settlers in Jerusalem and Hebron. The participants raised Palestinian flags, and affirmed their rejection of the occupation and settlers' policies against them.

Palestinian Foreign Ministry: Bennett brags about terrorism

Politically, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry said that Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett boasts that Israel has become a terrorist state and its incubator.

A statement by the ministry considered that what we saw on Sunday was a new confirmation that the occupying power deals with Jewish terrorism and its organizations as part of its components and its official system.

The Foreign Ministry pointed out that Bennett congratulated everyone who participated in the so-called "flags march", boasting of them, their actions, and their aggressive and barbaric behavior.

On the other hand, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz said that the flags march in Jerusalem on Sunday confirms the unity of the city of Jerusalem and Israeli sovereignty over it.

Gantz added - in a speech to his party members in the Knesset - that the Israeli police and the Shin Bet acted against what he described as Muslim terrorists, as he put it.

For his part, Palestinian Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh said that Israel has crossed all red lines through its repeated aggression against Al-Aqsa and Jerusalem, and its attempt to change the historical reality of the Temple Mount.
