Security measures have been strengthened on the border between the Kursk region and Ukraine, Governor of the Russian region Roman Starovoit said during an operational meeting.
“The Ministry of Defense has taken additional measures, and weapons in the form of artillery installations and rocket launchers have already arrived in our region and are still arriving.
Everything is aimed at ensuring the safety of life and health of the inhabitants of our region, ”RIA Novosti quoted Starovoit as saying.
In recent months, the territory of the Kursk region has been repeatedly shelled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Also in the region until June 8, a “yellow” level of terrorist threat was set due to possible provocations by Ukrainian nationalists.

The Russian Armed Forces hit two command and observation posts of battalions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a communications center, as well as 34 areas of concentration of manpower and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
At the same time, aviation attacked three command posts and 67 areas of concentration of manpower and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This was announced by the official representative of the Ministry of Defense, Major General Igor Konashenkov, during a briefing on the course of a special military operation.
“In total, as a result of air strikes, up to 320 nationalists were destroyed per day, as well as 47 units of weapons and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” he said.
Russian air defense systems shot down 15 Ukrainian drones and also intercepted nine Ukrainian Smerch multiple rocket launchers.
Rocket troops and artillery hit 62 command posts, as well as 593 areas of concentration of manpower and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and 55 artillery and mortar batteries in firing positions.
“Four installations of the BM-21 Grad multiple launch rocket system, 46 weapons and Ukrainian military equipment, as well as an ammunition depot in the Novomikhailovka area of the Donetsk People's Republic were destroyed.
In addition, as a result of an artillery strike on a hangar on the territory of the Okean shipbuilding plant in the city of Nikolaev, more than 15 Ukrainian tanks and infantry fighting vehicles, as well as five large-caliber artillery pieces, were destroyed, ”said the official representative of the defense department.

Terrorist attack in Melitopol
The morning explosion in Melitopol is qualified as a "terrorist act aimed at destabilizing civilian life," the city administration said.
