Two citizens and a worker rescue a woman and 4 children from drowning in Khor Rams

Two Emirati fishermen, Abdullah and Nader Ali Kasin, rescued an Emirati mother and four children from drowning in Khor Al Rams, with the help of an Asian worker, last Friday evening, and took them to land and contacted the national ambulance, who took them to the hospital for treatment.

Abdullah told "Emirates Today" that he was accompanied by his brother Nader and his family on a cruise last Friday evening through the cruiser inside Khor Al Rams and heard an indistinct scream for help about 200 meters away.

He added that he immediately turned off the cruiser's engine to hear the sound clearly, and he heard a child screaming and calling for help and he was in a state of drowning with others, and he tried to reach them, but the low water of the creek would make the cruiser's engine hit in the sand.

He added that he got off the cruiser with his brother and went to the place of the mother and the children, and an Asian worker came to help them, as the mother was in a state of drowning and extreme exhaustion, so they had to bring the cruiser despite the seriousness of that, and the cruiser was transported to the land as the four children were carried by his brother and the worker and taken to land.

He pointed out that the mother was unable to speak and was in a state of shock and inability to move as a result of swallowing a quantity of water, and the national ambulance was called, which came to the place and took them all to the hospital for treatment, explaining that swimming in Khor Al Rams poses a danger due to the presence of deep holes and high water levels. Fast during the tide.

For her part, Shaima Al Shehhi told "Emirates Today" that she went with her two children, Amna (7 years old) and Youssef (8 years old), and her two nieces, Mansour (8 years old) and Fatima (10 years old), to walk in the creek due to the low water and picking oysters.

She explained that the water rose rapidly as a result of the tide, without being able to get out of the creek with the children, and she fell on her back and the water pulled her into the creek and the children started screaming and asking for help.

She added that she was afraid and could not save the children and tried to carry them on a swimming balloon that was with them and asked them to stick and hang on to reach land, but soon they fell into the water.

And she continued that she felt a convulsion in her limbs as if she was paralyzed and lost the ability to move, and minutes later Abdullah, Nader Kasin and an Asian worker arrived at the place and took them by cruiser to land and called the ambulance that transported them to the hospital, and they were discharged from the hospital on Saturday evening after their condition stabilized.

She pointed out that what the two brothers and the worker did is a heroic act that saved them from drowning at the right time.
