With almost 400,000 inhabitants, Belgorod is the largest Russian city located on the border with Ukraine.

In the city it is calm and quiet.

But everyone here knows that it is a real war going on in the neighboring country and not a "special operation" as the Kremlin calls it, says Viktoria Kulitj.
