As the June 1 local elections are three days away, the Democratic Party leadership is campaigning for support in the Gyeonggi region to secure a bridgehead for victory.

Yun Ho-jung, chairman of the Democratic Party's permanent election countermeasures committee, held a campaign to support local government candidates in Yongin, Icheon, and Guri, Gyeonggi Province today (29th) and appealed for support from Gyeonggi Province.

Park Ji-hyeon, chairman of the permanent election campaign, also visited Seongnam to campaign for support.

The conflict between the Democratic Party’s non-captain ‘two-top’ Ji-hyeon Park and Joint Emergency Response Committee Chairman Yun Ho-jung, which had been going on since the beginning of last week, was closed through a meeting yesterday (28th).

Based on the regional government heads, the Democratic Party is understood to have the upper hand in three places in Honam (Gwangju, Jeonnam, and Jeonbuk) and Jeju.

The goal is to achieve victory in Gyeonggi, Incheon, Chungnam, Gangwon, and Sejong, which have been classified as close battle areas based on the four 'vegetable gardens'.

Internally, winning at 4 places is 'maintaining the status quo', winning 6-7 places is 'propaganda', and winning at least 8 places is judging a complete win.

The Democratic Party emphasizes the 'local worker theory' strategy and emphasizes character competitiveness.

It is also expected to continue appealing for balance so that it can play its role as a 'responsible opposition party' to check the Yun Seok-yeol government.
