On a porch in Barkö, Saoirse Schmidt and Sandra Eriksson sit and have coffee in the solar gas, when SVT comes by and shows the new safety brochure.

- Should something happen, you would probably be shocked and be a bit "everywhere and nowhere", says Saoirse Schmidt.

Barkö is located within the new safety zone around Forsmark.

Sandra Eriksson still sees benefits with the information.

- There is a lot you have not thought about, such as buying frozen goods at home, for example, she says.

Radio and tablets

The safety brochure together with iodine tablets is now being sent out to the residents in the new safety zone around Forsmark's nuclear power plant.

A warning radio will also be sent out a little later.

- The brochure is focused on knowing what to do in the event of an alarm but also what we do from the state.

The brochure emphasizes having a good home preparedness and helping its neighbors, says Tomas Roland, coordinator in nuclear energy preparedness at the County Administrative Board.

Hotel owners in the new security zone are also covered and receive brochures and iodine tablets for their guests.

- Now we will inform the staff so everyone knows what to do in the event of an alarm, says Fredrik Ericsson, innkeeper in Norrskedika.
