The man had taken his vehicle to look for those involved in an argument in which he had participated in a local pub that same night, and ran over these two young people who
had no relation to that altercation
, when they were going to cross the street together to a group of ten people.
As a result of the impact, the vehicle fell about 100 meters under a bridge and the driver, about 50 years old, tried to leave the place but was arrested by the Local Police, who tested him for
alcohol and drug use and tested positive.
police sources have reported.

, had a young son and had lived in the municipality for a short time, as explained by the mayor of Canals, Mai Castells, who has offered all the necessary help to the family of the victims and has decreed three days of mourning in the town.
The Canals City Council has decreed
three days of mourning
after the "fateful event" that occurred on Saturday night and that "has claimed two innocent lives", as published on its social networks.
The health services have tried
to revive the boy,
without success, and have treated the young woman until the arrival of an ambulance, which has transferred her in a very critical condition to the Lluís Alcanyís Hospital in Xàtiva, where she died around 9 in the morning. .
It seems that the couple was one of the first pedestrians in the group that began to cross Valencia street, one of the most central in the municipality, when the vehicle, which
was driving in the opposite direction
, ran over them.
The Local Police have indicated that, at the time of his arrest, the driver, also a neighbor of Canals, was aware of what had happened and that his intention was to cause harm to some people with whom he had had a discussion moments before in a pub located on the same street as the outrage, unrelated to the deceased couple.
The three days of mourning will begin this Monday, as a symbol of condolence for the death of the couple and in support of the families affected by the tragedy, according to the council, which has already contacted them to provide them with the help they need.
