The fire which first affected a car parked on rue Claire-Pauilhac, Sunday morning in Toulouse, caused great damage.

The fire started from one car, spread to another, before igniting the gas connection of an old building in the Chalets district and destroying part of its front.

This fire, which occurred shortly after 5 a.m., ravaged some of the apartments in the building, all of the occupants of which were evacuated and relocated.

The Haute-Garonne firefighters managed to contain the fire in the early morning.

Faced with the risks, the gas lines in the sector had to be cut, before being gradually restored.

An investigation has been opened to determine the origin of the fire.
