“If these missiles can reach Russian cities, this can lead to an adequate response (from) Russia,” he told RIA Novosti.

Tsekov noted that the supply of weapons from the United States to Ukraine is leading to an escalation and continuation of the Ukrainian crisis.

“This decision is ill-conceived, if they think they can sit out overseas, the Russian leadership will find a worthy answer,” Tsekov said.

He also stressed that Washington is taking such steps not only against Russia, "but also against Europe."
