How to secure your bike saddle?

When you have a bike, you are afraid of finding it damaged after parking it, or that it is missing certain elements.

Among those most at risk of being stolen is the saddle.

Fortunately, there are a few tips to know in order to secure your bicycle saddle.

To begin with, avoid leaving your two-wheeler in places that are too isolated.

If there's traffic, thieves might be deterred from stealing parts of your bike like the saddle.

You can also change the attachments initially put in place to strengthen them.

In particular, there are anti-theft bicycle buttons to prevent it from being removed.

Also think of the clamp which can only be loosened with an Allen key, a tool that a potential thief will not necessarily have on him.

You can also put in place a lock or a bicycle lock which protects this area in particular.

Finally, last solution, you can always take your saddle with you when you leave the bike, but this option is quite impractical and can be cumbersome.

Our recommendations for securing your bike properly

For optimal safety, it is important to know how to attach your bike when you leave it on the street.

As we told you above, favor places with a little traffic to limit the temptation.

Also choose a solid and fixed point, that is to say anchored in the ground.

So check that there is no space through which your bike lock could pass and be removed.

Then, always remember to attach at least the frame.

If you only attach the handlebars or the wheel, you take a lot of risks.

The choice of your bike lock will also be very important.

It must be solid otherwise a small blow of pliers could be enough to break it.

If you think it is necessary, do not hesitate to use two locks to secure your bike as much as possible.

Also note that there are models with an alarm that can either make noise and scare away the potential thief or send you a notification.

If you are really afraid for certain removable elements, take them with you.
