The Lebanese army said in a statement that an Israeli drone crashed yesterday, Thursday, in the vicinity of the border village of Rmeish, in the south of the country, after it violated Lebanese airspace.

The statement indicated that an army force uncovered the march, which was found to be free of explosive materials, and its contents are being verified.

The statement added that this breach is being pursued in coordination with the United Nations forces operating in Lebanon

For its part, the Israeli occupation army acknowledged the fall of its "sky rider" march in the Lebanese territories several days ago, during a regular combing operation.

The Israeli army said in a brief statement that the incident is under investigation and there is no fear that any classified information will be leaked.

This type of aircraft is used in reconnaissance, espionage and information-gathering missions, and ground forces use them to reconnaissance the areas in which they are militarily active.

This type of aircraft has encountered problems with its engine. In the past, several aircraft of this type have crashed in Lebanon, in the Gaza Strip, and at sea.

Over the past two years, the border between Lebanon and Israel has witnessed a relative calm, but from time to time Israel announces a security event in that area, such as arresting intruders, shooting down drones, or monitoring missile launches from Lebanon.

Hezbollah controls the southern Lebanon region adjacent to the border between Israel and Lebanon.
