Korean group tourists will be able to travel in Japan from the 10th of next month.

In a lecture in Tokyo on the evening of the 26th, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida announced that "foreign tourists will resume entry from June 10."

This is the second time in two years and two months after the ban on entry for foreign tourists for tourism purposes in April 2020 after the outbreak of Corona 19.

However, to prevent the spread of COVID-19, we decided to allow only group tours through travel agencies for the time being.

From the 1st of next month, the Japanese government will increase the upper limit on the number of inbound travelers per day from 10,000 to 20,000.

Tourists are also allowed to enter the country only within the limit of the total number of entrants.

The Japanese government is making preparations to resume accepting international flights at New Chitose Airport in Hokkaido and Naha Airport in Okinawa next month.

Currently, international flights depart and arrive at only five airports in Japan, including Haneda and Narita.

The Japanese government plans to gradually expand the scope of entry for tourists while monitoring the spread of COVID-19 caused by travelers.

In addition, starting from the 1st of next month, when entering Japan from 98 countries, including Korea, the United States, and China, there will be no Corona 19 test, and waiting at home will be exempted.

In addition to expanding the number of entry targets and the number of people entering the country, the Japanese government has also decided to ease the entry and quarantine restrictions that are being implemented to curb the influx of COVID-19.

The quarantine measures currently being implemented for all inbound travelers are applied differently by classifying countries and regions into three groups, red, yellow, and blue, based on the COVID-19 epidemic and infection risk.

The blue group, which has the lowest risk of infection with COVID-19, is exempted from testing and waiting at home when entering the country, regardless of whether the third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine is administered.

Japan's Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare announced yesterday that the lowest group includes 98 countries and regions, including South Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom and China.
