Suspicion has been raised that Kim Seung-hee, a candidate for Minister of Health and Welfare, received a special supply of an apartment in Sejong City while working at the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety and obtained a profit from the market price.

It was confirmed that candidate Kim did not actually live in the Sejong apartment.

Candidate Seung-hee Kim, the Minister of Health and Welfare, received a sale of an apartment in Sejong City for about 84 million won in 2012, while serving as the deputy head of the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.

He and his spouse owned apartments in Mok-dong, Seoul and Ilsan, Goyang, Gyeonggi-do, respectively, in front of him and his spouse, but were able to get another one through a special supply for civil servants whose institutions had moved to Sejong and Osong.

[Sejong City Real Estate Official: The competition rate was very high for the special attack (special supply).

You must have made money, all of them.]

However, candidate Kim did not actually live in this specially supplied apartment, but continued to rent it out, and sold it for 424 million won, up 140 million won from the sale price in May 2017. I did.

The Democratic Party raised suspicions that candidate Kim, who was a second-homeowner, made a so-called 'gap investment' using a special supply system to charter.

Suspicion of 'gap investment' arose even in the purchase of an apartment by candidate Kim's eldest daughter, A.

Mr. A bought her apartment in Sangdo-dong, Seoul for 460 million won from her maternal grandmother in March 2019, and she gave her a charter for 360 million won, and she did not actually move in.

The current asking price for this apartment is around 800 million won.

Candidate Kim explained that the Sejong City apartment received special sale for the purpose of real residence, but could not move in due to retirement from public office at the time of moving in.

He also explained that the eldest daughter's apartment purchase was also sold at the market price by the candidate's mother in need of cash, and all related taxes were legally paid.
