A supervisor of the Villenauxe-la-Grande detention center (Aube) was attacked by a detainee on Wednesday.
The facts took place "shortly after the 7 a.m. call", according to a press release from the FO Justice union relayed by France 3 Champagne-Ardenne.
The prison guard was reportedly punched in the face.
The detainee also allegedly used a "homemade weapon".
Several days of ITT
The victim was transported to the emergency room.
She was prescribed a “work stoppage and several days of ITT”, indicates FO.
The assailant was taken to the disciplinary unit.
According to the union, a dispute had already taken place a few days earlier between the prisoner and the supervisor.
The man then “hid in his cell and started banging violently on the door”.
The incident ended after the intervention of other officers.
