Kuleba said it was "extremely difficult emotionally" for Ukraine to sit down at the negotiating table with Russia, but "willing to control emotions" if it helped bring about peace.

Earlier, Podoljak, an adviser to the chief of the Office of the President of Ukraine, said on the 22nd that Ukraine did not agree to any agreement with Russia to recognize Russia's occupation of Ukrainian territory. The premise of resuming the peace process is the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukrainian territory.

In response to Podoljak's remarks, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Rudenko said that on the issue of peace treaty negotiations with Ukraine, Moscow will rely on the official position of the Kyiv authorities.

Rudenko said on the 23rd that if Ukraine shows a constructive position and responds to Moscow's proposal, Russia will be ready to return to negotiations.
