Italian monkeypox confirmed cases rise to 6 to consider vaccination for high-risk groups

  On the 26th local time, the Italian Ministry of Health announced that the number of confirmed cases of monkeypox in the country had risen to 6.

  The announcement pointed out that in response to monkeypox virus infection, it will be considered to vaccinate high-risk groups such as medical staff and laboratory staff who have been exposed to the virus within 4 days, and implement isolation under certain specific circumstances.

In addition, specific antiviral drugs may be considered for severely symptomatic or immunocompromised patients.

Epidemic risk has been ruled out and mass vaccination is not considered.
