In the midst of the conflict in Ukraine, mercenaries are, for the first time, accused of war crimes, reports
The
Guardian
.
The British newspaper reveals the identity of two alleged fighters of the sulphurous Wagner group who would come from Belarus and Russia.
Some would have fought in Syria.
Men accused by the kyiv prosecutor's office of murdering and torturing civilians in the village of Motyzhyn, near kyiv, where mass graves were found.
The wave of emotion is far from falling in the world and in the small town of Uvalde in Texas after the deadly shooting in a school.
On the front pages of the international press, the same faces of innocence mowed down in a primary school classroom.
"The killing of children", headlines the Italian daily
La Repubblica
, while the Spanish newspaper
El Pais
evokes a killing which "highlights the political incapacity in the face of the arms lobby"

Despite the tragedy, the National Rifle Association (NRA) has decided to hold its annual convention in Texas this Friday.
It will be held just four hours from the scene of the tragedy with Donald Trump among the guest stars but also Governor Greg Abbott and Texas Senator Ted Cruz.

All the press relays the photos of the damning final report of the administrative investigation into the series of thirteen drunken parties organized at the residence of Prime Minister Boris Johnson in full confinement, in 2020 and 2021. "The party is over", headlines
The
Sun
.
The tabloid challenges the Prime Minister to help readers weather the rising cost of living crisis.
Particularly virulent, paraphrasing an opposition MP, the
Northern Echo
accuses: "There is blood on your privileged hands".
A reference to the deaths of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, the report explains that some vomited at one of the parties, spilled red wine on a photocopier...

For the conservative newspaper
The
Times
, this report “sets out a litany of cynicism and illegality which puts the administration of Boris Johnson to shame”.
If his reputation is significantly damaged, "he is not mortally wounded".
Liberation
believes that "Boris Johnson has left to stay".
For now, a majority of Tories remain loyal to him.
Many want to "focus on the things that matter" like the cost of living and the war in Ukraine.
The problem is that no natural successor seems to be emerging.
