Kuwait..a proposal restricting the departure of residents, even if temporarily

Kuwaiti National Assembly Representative Osama Al-Manawer submitted a proposal to add a new article to the Aliens Residence Law and its amendments.

The amendment stated: For the departure of residents of the country from citizens of other countries, through any of the border crossings, whether permanently or temporarily, it is required to pay what is owed to the state’s public treasury in terms of fees for services they have previously enjoyed, financial fines due, and payment of traffic violations until If the validity period of residence is still valid.

Citizens of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, foreign bodies, embassies and diplomatic missions, and holders of Kuwaiti passports are excluded from this, and workers in ministries, government agencies and institutions are excluded from this, provided that a guarantee of payment of what is due through the end-of-service gratuity upon the expiry of the service Contracting with them or in accordance with the procedures for collecting money prior to the issuance of this law.

The Minister of Interior may exclude other categories as required by the public interest of the country.
