Infanticide in Haute-Savoie: justice calls for witnesses

The gendarmes of Haute-Savoie are actively looking for Cyrille Picard, a father suspected of being involved in the death of his daughter, Célia Picard, aged 10, who died of asphyxiation, strangled.

His body was found dead in the family home on Thursday, May 12.

“On May 17, a judicial investigation was opened at the criminal center of the Annecy judicial court on the counts of murder of a minor under the age of 15 and destruction by dangerous means”, specifies the press release from the court.

Cyrille Picard is actively wanted.

The girl's father received "an international arrest warrant" on May 17, while he has been "unreachable since the death of his daughter".

A call for witnesses was therefore launched on Wednesday by "the two cosaisis investigating magistrates", while he is "actively sought throughout the national territory".

According to information from Europe 1, the father is suspected of being the author of the murder, which occurred in the context of the couple's separation.

The man is a former sports shooter.

He may have fled with a handgun, although he has no declared weapon.

The main suspect fled in a Citroën Jumpy vehicle.

According to the information collected by the investigators, the father "would have fled in a white Citroën Jumpy vehicle, registered EK-208-ZL, in the company of an American staff dog, a few months old, responding to the name of Tyson", details the press release, which warns: Cyrille Picard "is likely to be armed and dangerous".

The man fled with his dog, answering to the name of Tyson.

The call for witnesses "is accompanied by the photograph of the person sought, that of his vehicle as well as the dog which accompanies him in order to collect testimonies allowing the investigation to evolve", continues the press release.
