Amman consultations address the opening of Yemeni roads and crossings

A source in the Yemeni government said that the consultations in the Jordanian capital Amman deal with the opening of closed roads and crossings, including Taiz roads. For his part, the US envoy to Yemen, Tim Lenderking, welcomed the continued progress in peace efforts in Yemen, especially with regard to consultations to lift the siege and open roads in Taiz.

In addition, the UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, concluded discussions in Jordan with Yemeni and international economic experts, focusing on prioritizing the issues that must be addressed in the economic track for any future dialogue between the Yemeni parties under the auspices of the United Nations.

The issues included the issue of coordinating fiscal and monetary policies, stabilizing the currency exchange rate, government revenues, financing civil service salaries, double taxation, reconstruction and public debt, in addition to other priority strategic issues.

In Aden, a member of the legal team of the Presidential Leadership Council, Judge Dr. Ahmed Attia, stated that the team is finalizing a legal draft of the rules regulating the work of the Council, its bodies and teams, and that it will be handed over to the President of the Presidential Council soon.

In a press statement, he pointed out that the team was keen to set legal rules that address any problems in the functioning of the bodies' work, or conflicting competencies between the various state agencies.

This bill will be issued a law based on the declaration of the transfer of power.


Meanwhile, the Yemeni government began searching for other sources to compensate for the shortage of wheat resulting from the war in Ukraine, by giving absolute priority to supporting the agricultural sector and its workers, by all available means and means.

According to the official Saba Agency, the government asked the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation to quickly prepare a comprehensive strategy and general national policies for the agriculture and food security sector and the associated national investment plan, and to devise techniques to improve plant and animal production.

On the other hand, the Yemeni army announced that it had detected 63 new Houthi violations of the UN truce, including 27 violations in Taiz, while the rest were distributed on the fronts of other governorates.
