Al Jazeera Media Network demanded that Reuters news agency retract and correct the editorial errors that it made regarding the agency's claim to Al Jazeera channel regarding the recent statements of Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani related to the Iranian nuclear file.

Al Jazeera said in a letter it sent to Reuters that its regional office in Dubai attributed the original news and its subsequent correction and made it a title attributed to Al Jazeera, noting that the source of the original news and the subsequent correction were from a German newspaper, and it was reported by the Qatar News Agency, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other media, including Al Jazeera.

The network indicated that Reuters insisted on naming it to Al Jazeera, claiming that the channel had corrected a translation error that had occurred, which is unfounded, as the correction came from the first source of the news.

In its letter to Reuters, Al Jazeera called for accuracy and professionalism and to correct the matter immediately.

An official source on Al Jazeera said that the Reuters regional office in Dubai had deliberately maintained this percentage and did not correct it, which is inconsistent with the ethics of the profession, adding that the agency should have reviewed and scrutinized the work of its office in Dubai and control its professional behavior, which should not be subject to any non-professional considerations.
