A 23-year-old woman died on Monday evening after being hit by a truck on the A6 motorway.

The victim was at the Villefranche-sur-Saône Nord (Rhône) exit, towards Paris, when the fatal accident took place around 9:50 p.m.

The young woman's vehicle was then stopped on the side, visibly broken down.

It would have moved on foot a few meters upstream, to signal to motorists to slow down.

“A truck that failed to avoid it grabbed it,”

prosecutor Laëtitia Francart told Le

Progrès .

Shocked by this tragedy, the driver of the truck turned out to be negative on the alcohol test.

He was not taken into custody and the investigation into the circumstances of the accident is still ongoing.
