Deputy Chief Prosecutor Åsa Adolfsson, Kalmar has during the afternoon (May 25) decided to release the man at the age of 20 who was arrested on reasonable suspicion of the murder that occurred on Sunday, May 22 in the evening at Funkaboskolan in Kalmar, writes police spokesman Robert Loeffel in a press release.

Today, a message was expected whether the prosecutor would detain or release the 19-year-old suspect, and it thus became the latter alternative.

But the criminal suspicions remain against the man, even though he is at large now.

It was at 23:30 on Sunday evening that the police received several calls about loud bangs at the Funkabo area in Kalmar.

Later, a man with severe gunshot wounds was found and he died later during the night.

SVT Småland is looking for the prosecutor for a comment.

The police's working hypothesis is that the fatal shooting in Funkabo is part of an ongoing conflict between criminals in Norrliden.

Now the police in Kalmar get more resources to carry out checks, among other things, says municipal police Niko Kalcidis.
