Warning from Biden's statement that could spark a third world war

The British newspaper, "The Telegraph", considered that US President Joe Biden's controversial statement about his country's readiness to fight China on the side of Taiwan is a "serious mistake" that could lead to World War III.

The newspaper pointed out in its editorial that the American left considered the arrival of the current president of the White House to power the beginning of a new era in foreign policy, pointing out that the expectations of observers were disappointed by the failure to withdraw the American army from Afghanistan early in his term.

She said that Biden made another grave mistake during his visit to Asia, when he said that the United States is ready to participate in a military conflict against China on the side of Taiwan.

In fact, America has never assumed such obligations. Relations with the island are regulated by a special law, which assures that the United States will provide it with such funds and in quantities that can maintain sufficient defense capabilities. Moreover, the law states that The policy will not be changed by the president unilaterally. Any decision to protect Taiwan is made with the approval of Congress."

According to the newspaper, after Biden's words, the State Department was forced to explain to the whole world that the course of Washington's foreign policy has not changed, but the confusion that the American leader sowed is very dangerous.

During a joint press conference with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida in Tokyo on Monday, the US president said his country was ready to defend Taiwan "in the event of an invasion."

The White House later clarified that Biden meant supplying self-defense weapons to the island.
