Both are sentenced to one year and four months in prison and the court considers that the crimes should be assessed as serious when they are well planned.

In the boat used for the escape, a fuel can was found as well as ropes and flippers.

In addition to the escape boat, four boats were found and on all of them the thieves had begun to dismantle the engines.

The value of the stolen goods has been calculated at approximately SEK 1.6 million.

False signs and coordinates

The duo traveled in a fake signposted van in which the police found a post-it note with coordinates, one of which was the place where one was arrested.

According to a police officer, the vehicle also appeared to be ready for transporting boat engines.

Contributing to the two being arrested was that the alarm was triggered on a boat and the owner could follow its movements via GPS.

None of the convicts have confessed to the acts, but the district court assesses their stories as ex post constructions.

The 22-year-old has previous convictions in Lithuania.

The 35-year-old, on the other hand, does not previously appear in the criminal record.
