• Independence challenge The Supreme Court rejects the challenge of the key magistrate to review the pardons of the 'procés'

The

Supreme Court

changes its criteria and now decides to review the granting of pardons to the Catalan independence leaders.

The Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the High Court has agreed this Tuesday to estimate the reconsideration appeals filed by the plaintiffs against the decision of this same court to reject the active legitimation of the same to appeal the grace measures granted by the Government of

Pedro Sánchez

to the promoters of 1-O.

According to legal sources reported to EL MUNDO, with three votes in favor and two against, the High Court now rectifies and recognizes the legitimacy of PP, Cs and Vox, thus moving away from the previous jurisprudence that represented a de facto shield for the Government to the time to grant pardons.

In this way, the Fifth Section of the Third Chamber will study the merits of the matter, that is, if the clemency measures granted to the former Vice President of the Generalitat Oriol Junqueras, the former

ministers

Josep Rull, Jordi Turull, Joaquim Forn, Raül Romeva and Dolors Bassa, the former president of the Parliament of Catalonia, Carme Forcadell and the

Jordis

, Jordi Cuixart and Jordi Sánchez, were adjusted to Law.
