“In order to optimize and increase the effectiveness of the relevant interaction, the parties agreed on a draft bilateral intergovernmental memorandum of understanding on issues of ensuring biological safety,” the message says following consultations in an interdepartmental format.

It is emphasized that the parties exchanged assessments of threats to biological security in the post-Soviet space.

Earlier, Deputy Secretary of the Russian Security Council Rashid Nurgaliyev said that Moscow had proposed to the countries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization to create a joint council to counter biological threats.
