Earlier, the Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia, Valery Falkov, expressed the opinion that the Bologna system in education should be treated “as a past stage” and begin to create its own education system, which will be based on the interests of the national economy and the opportunities of students.

“The Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation believes that the rejection of the Bologna system and the transition to specialist programs can improve the quality of teacher training throughout the country,” TASS said in a statement.

Also, the Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Nikolai Patrushev, expressed the opinion that the country "it would be expedient to abandon the so-called Bologna system" and return to the experience of "the world's best domestic educational model."

He said this in an interview with the Arguments and Facts newspaper.
