Greta received SEK 300,000 - donated it to Sami youth's fight for the climate

According to Petra Laiti, chairman of Suoma Sámi Nuorat, prize money is a fantastic opportunity for young Sami. 

- The climate is the same for us as the future.

I want to emphasize how important it is for the Sami to be recognized and, in concrete terms, to become more and more full-fledged participants in the climate debate, she continues.

World Migrant Award

Greta Thunberg received the award for her climate work from the Finnish family company Niemi Palvelut, which every ten years, via the World Migrant Award, awards a prize to a person who has significantly changed the world.

She was awarded 30,000 euros, which corresponds to just over SEK 300,000.

Greta sent a greeting to Suoma Sámi Nuorat in the form of a video over the weekend.
