German Foreign Minister Burbock is confident that the EU will soon adopt the sixth package of sanctions against Russia

She expressed this opinion at a joint press conference with her Polish colleague Zbigniew Rau.

“Together and with the full solidarity of all 27 member countries, we have adopted five tough sanctions packages so far.

And I am sure that we will soon come to an agreement regarding the sixth package, ”TASS quotes Burbock.

At the same time, she stated that the conviction in the need for a complete renunciation of Russian oil and gas supplies "is shared by all EU states."

At the same time, the Financial Times reported on May 24 that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban considered it counterproductive to further discuss the oil embargo against Russia in the European Union without agreement on alternatives.

On May 10, the head of the German Foreign Ministry, during a press conference in Kyiv, said that Germany was reducing its dependence on Russian energy carriers to zero.

According to her, "this is forever."

After that, a member of the Bundestag committee on climate protection and energy, Steffen Kotre, said that Germany's complete refusal of Russian gas, which Burbock claims, is impossible and inappropriate, perhaps the minister's "emotions got the better of reason."
